BEGINNINGS
Born in Western Uganda, Vee came from a very large family with seven sisters and five brothers. Growing up in such a sizeable family presented challenges that required a sort of strength that goes beyond the norm. Being highly motivated, Vee decided to go abroad. Upon arriving in the US and receiving such positive responses to her exotic look, Vee began working as a professional runway model. Years on the runway taught Vee the fundamentals of the fashion industry, and Vmodels was formed in 2000.
THE NEXT STEP
Growing up as an African child, and especially during recent return trips, Vee was inspired to use her considerable business skills to help children in need. The V Foundation was formed. We have identified three critical needs of children for the foundation to address: (1) the crises of hunger, (2) inadequate healthcare; and (3) unequal educational opportunity. This non-profit foundation affords people in the fashion industry an effective means to make a real difference in the lives of children throughout the world.
